Providing compassionate advocacy is a goal of the law firm. Suzy Scheller combines her passion, interest, skills, and knowledge of elder law, elder abuse and neglect, mediation, teaching, vulnerable adults, estate planning, financial exploitation, and long term care to advocate for clients finding themselves facing everyday concerns related to aging, advanced planning, and care needs. At Scheller Legal Solutions LLC, Suzanne Scheller focuses her practice on the field of elder law, including elder abuse and neglect litigation, financial exploitation, elder mediation, estate planning, and other areas of elder law. Suzy often works as co- counsel with Kenneth L. LaBore in nursing home litigation claims. Her passion and compassion in injury and wrongful death litigation claims against nursing homes and assisted living facilities have achieved results for elders and their families and have held providers accountable to protect our vulnerable, elder population.
Attorney and Mediator
Suzanne Scheller is a graduate of Hamline University School of Law and is admitted to practice in Minnesota, the United States District Court for Minnesota, and the United States Court of Appeals for the Eighth Circuit. She is also a Qualified Neutral under Minnesota Rule 114 in the areas of mediation and arbitration.
Kristen's former roles as Regional Ombudsman for Long Term Care and Attorney at Kosieradzki Smith Law Firm brings unique insights to her current role as a Nursing Home Litigation Attorney at Scheller Legal Solutions LLC. Kristen is a tenacious attorney who has seen too often abuse and neglect in nursing homes, assisted livings, and group home settings. She works tirelessly to hold long term care facilities accountable for neglect and unacceptable care that results in what would otherwise be preventable catastrophic injury or death.
Upon graduation from William Mitchell College of Law, Kristen became a trial attorney advocating on behalf of victims of the negligence of others. She is also a past President of the Hennepin County chapter of Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD).
As an Ombudsman, Kristen advocated for residents of long-term care facilities in all matters related to quality of care including staffing concerns (numbers, training, competencies), daily care issues (call light response time, infection control, person-centered care planning and implementation, quality of food, appropriateness of activities, cleanliness of the facility, etc.) refusals to readmit after hospitalization, and representation at involuntary discharge hearings. Kristen has been at the bedside of residents in countless facilities offering support and advocacy as they negotiated the oftentimes confusing and disappointing world of long-term care. This experience gives her a well rounded understanding of how these businesses operate.
Kristen is also an advocate for animals. She has been a council member and officer in the Animal Law Section of the Minnesota State Bar Association for many years.
